It’s Time to Spruce Up Your Sprinklers

Now is the time to make sure your sprinkler system is ready for the hot days and weeks ahead.

Follow these steps:

  1. Inspect: Check your sprinkler system for any broken, clogged or missing sprinkler heads. Turn on your sprinklers one zone at a time and flag any problems you find for fixing later.
  2. Connect: Check the connections between the sprinkler heads and connecting hoses or pipes. If you find large wet or soggy areas, you might have a leak or loose connection.
  3. Direct: Confirm that your sprinklers are watering your yard and not the hardscape or your house. Redirect any sprinklers that are pointed in the wrong direction.
  4. Select: Program your sprinkler timer so that it runs early in the morning and no longer then is needed. Use a moisture meter to help determine the ideal run time.
