On May 30, 2018, Carmichael Water District (District) General Manager Steve Nugent presented two awards in the 2018 Water Spots Video Contest on behalf of the District and the Regional Water Authority.
The Water Spots Video Contest challenged middle school and high school students from throughout the Sacramento region to explore what it means to be an “H20 Hero” in 30-second public service videos.
This year 100 entries were received and the competition was intense. All of the videos submitted were screened by a panel of water efficiency professionals and then sent to our expert judges. Those judges determined the top 10 videos to be put to an online vote.
Steve presented the People’s Choice award and a cash prize for receiving the most online votes of any video to “Hydro Hero” produced by Jasmine Isidoro. Jasmine’s video received the most online votes ever in the seven-year history of the Water Spots Video Contest.
Steve also presented the top scoring video from Will Rogers Middle School with an amazon gift card to Leo Bell, Jason Nyachhayon, and Michelle Hernandez for their video “Water Power”.
Thank you to Mrs. Esquivel for being an outstanding teacher, for supporting the Water Spots Video Contest and for helping your students learn about using water efficiently.
