2015 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP)
Carmichael Water District encourages public participation in the development of its UWMP updates every five (5) years. The District held a public meeting on May 16, 2016 for review and comments on the draft plan prior to finalization and District Board of Director’s approval.
In accordance with Section 6066 of the Government Code, notices of the meeting were published in the Sacramento Bee Newspaper and posted at the District Office. Copies of the report have been made available for public review at the District Office.
The UWMP was updated and adopted by the District Board of Directors on June 20, 2016 and submitted to the California Department of Water Resources. The plan includes the information necessary to meet the requirements of California Water Code Division 6, Part 2.6, as revised by SB-553.
The water purveyors within Sacramento County and Placer County have participated in several regional water issues planning activities supported both financially and through active participation by District staff and elected officials. This active involvement was reported in the previous UWMP update and continues through the present. Key elements include participation with the activities of the following groups and organizations:
- The Water Forum
- American River Basin Cooperating Agencies
- Sacramento Groundwater Authority (SGA)
- Regional Water Authority (RWA)
The District will continue to support the efforts for continuing and implementing the regional planning issues.
A copy of the complete UWMP is available to print at the link below, or may be purchased at the District Office for $25.00.
