District to Receive $6 Million In Federal and State Grant Funding to Improve Drought Resiliency

Over the past decade, CWD has experienced the negative effects of climate driven drought conditions on its water supply reliability in the form of curtailments of 100% of surface water supplies and lowered river flows.  As a result of staff prepared grant applications, the District will receive $4 million in State grant funds and $2 million in Federal grant funds.  The grant awards will help bolster the District’s drought resiliency with the construction of the Engle/Garfield Aquifer Storage and Recovery Well Project.
