Public Participation

Carmichael Water District encourages public participation in the development of its UWMP updates every five years. The District held a public meeting on June 24, 2021, for review and comments on the draft plan prior to finalization and the District Board of Director's approval.

In accordance with CWC Section 10642, notices of the meeting were published in the Sacramento Bee Newspaper, posted at the District Office, and posted on the District's website. Copies of the report have been made available for public review at the District Office.

Plan Adoption

The UWMP was updated and adopted by the District Board of Directors on June 24, 2021, and submitted to the California Department of Water Resources. The plan includes the information necessary to meet the requirements of the Urban Water Management Planning Act.

Interagency Coordination

The water purveyors within Sacramento County and Placer County have participated in several regional water issues planning activities supported both financially and through active participation by District staff and elected officials. This active involvement was reported in the previous UWMP update and continues through the present. Key elements include participation in the activities of the following groups and organizations:

  • The Water Forum
  • Sacramento Groundwater Authority (SGA)
  • Regional Water Authority (RWA)

The District will continue to support the efforts for continuing and implementing the regional planning issues.

A copy of the complete UWMP is available to print, or may be purchased at the District Office for $25.
