Construction activities for the main line replacement are listed below with start dates:

1. Pot holing has started to determine the location of existing utilities.

2. The timeline for construction/installation of the new main line will start in December 2025 and will be completed early 2026.

Phases of construction will result in traffic impacts that may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Partial lane closures
  • Road closures/Detours
  • Temporary delays

The District will make every effort to keep traffic impacts to a minimum and allow for emergency access during construction phases. During the final phase of road restoration, there may be daily temporary road closures with limited to no vehicle access available to allow for the paving process including pavement compaction and pavement cooling.

Parking During Construction

The project will be performed in stages that may temporarily impede certain streets. In order to ensure access and expedite construction, the District asks that customers do not park on or next to the street during construction. The following diagram gives a general area of the construction and the affected areas during construction.

In order to provide customers with adequate time to plan and move vehicles from the affected street, the District will notify affected customers at least 48 hours prior to beginning construction on/near the affected street.

The District appreciates the cooperation and understanding of community members as this work moves forward. If you have any comments or questions, please email the District at engineering@carmichaelwd.org.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and patience.
