Hydrant Clearance Requirements

Carmichael Water District fire hydrants require a minimum 3-foot clear space around their circumference to ensure unobstructed access for firefighters. 

This clearance is crucial for efficient firefighting operations, allowing firefighters to easily connect hoses and operate equipment. 

This clearance should be free from any obstructions, including but not limited to, fences, shrubs, trees, storage, and parked vehicles. 

While landscaping is permitted around a hydrant, it must not impede access or visibility.
